Touch: The Journal of Healing
Touch: The Journal of Healing
After Thoughts
Touch, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual can be a powerful thing, and its healing influence cannot be discounted or overlooked. Whether coming into or leaving our lives, people touch us in unique ways, and their touch can remain with us for years. As well, when we touch them, we can leave an impression that can last for as long as they live and when that time is brief, it can bring comfort and alleviate suffering more than any medical treatment or drug.
The stories shared in this issue have reminded us of the lasting impression people can have on us, and we can have on them. Whether during the preparation of a meal, the final moments of a bedside vigil, or the renewal of hope and optimism after facing adversity, we find that when we face life’s joys and burdens together, we gain a new perspective or an unknown strength from each other’s contributions. Even an old curmudgeon, isolated, unhappy, and unwilling to change for years can find humor in life, and joy beyond the confines of four walls, if through patience and understanding, someone is willing to look beyond a gruff exterior.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the creation of this issue. Your images, and words have allowed us to continue our mission to touch each other with the healing that only creative hands and minds can bring. Thank you also to our readers and all who support the Journal. We hope you will consider purchasing a copy of the Journal for your library or to share with someone else and that you will continue to support Touch: The Journal of Healing as we share in the touch of humanity.
